About the Forum
KAZAKH GRAIN & LOGISTIC FORUM 2024
On December 5-6, the key event in the field of grain market and transport logistics of Kazakhstan – KAZAKH GRAIN & LOGISTIC FORUM 2024 – will be held in Astana at Rixos President Astana Hotel.
-
December 5 – Grain Market Day
-
December 6 – Logistics Day
The first day of the forum will be dedicated to global and regional trends of the grain market in 2024/25 MY. At first glance, these are traditional issues, but it is worth paying attention to the nuances and peculiarities:
- At the end of 2024, the global grain market will cross the equator of 2024/25 MY, and Kazakhstan will pass the 3-month mark. In December, it is already possible to summarize the first results of the grain market in the current season and understand the balance of power between exporting and importing countries.
- As for the Kazakh market, experts believe that the year will be fruitful, but tense. Harvesting data confirm that the current season’s grain harvest could be a record one. However, it is difficult to predict the market trends at the beginning of the season, especially after the experience of 2023/24 MY, which was characterized as a “perfect storm year”. Having received a record supply of wheat, quality and phytosanitary issues will affect the export trade.
- In addition, demand from key markets in Kazakhstan is inactive, which, on the one hand, has somewhat cooled down the tension in the logistics sector, but has not reduced the tension in the logistics sector.
- Kazakhstan needs to expand its borders in the global grain market to increase its independence from key markets and be more flexible in export trade, and besides demand, logistics is one of the key drivers.
That is why the second day of the forum will be devoted to the key issues of logistics and transportation infrastructure development in Kazakhstan. In the context of global changes and new challenges, such as sanctions and economic trends, we will discuss relevant topics, including domestic cargo flows, transit potential and integration into international transport corridors.
The forum participants will be able to learn about the tariff policy for grain transportation, new export routes to global markets, and problems related to bottlenecks in the transportation of grains and oilseeds. Particular attention will be paid to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, rail transportation, modern containerization technologies and prospects for the development of port infrastructure.
KAZAKH GRAIN & LOGISTICS FORUM 2024 will become a platform for exchanging views, discussing best practices and finding new solutions to improve the efficiency of grain business and logistics operations in Kazakhstan.
Additionally to the conference, there will also be an exhibition area which will make your participation more effective.
We invite all interested participants to join us at this significant event to discuss current issues and develop strategies for the future development of the transport logistics sector in the region.
